Pathways
If your course was chosen by Pathways for assessment, you should have received many emails from their office; the data is due by May 16th. If you have any questions, please contact Molly Hall (mrhall@vt.edu) or Jenni Gallagher (jennigal@vt.edu); you can also contact Jenna Zan (jenzan@vt.edu).
Hokieswrite Updates and 1105
Because so many people will be teaching 1105 for the first time in the fall, I’ll be working on updating the curriculum maps this summer (last updated Summer 2024). I’ll also edit and then link the video from the Brown Bag in April where we shared teaching ideas from 1105, so you can go back and draw upon any of those lesson plans/projects. In addition, two PhD students, Katie Long and Abigail Robinson, are working on a repository of 1105 materials, and I’ll create a link for that this summer as well. Therefore, we’ll have a lot of information available for 1105 this summer, but please let me know if you have any questions as you begin working on your fall calendars/syllabi.
Teaching Blog
Last month, I posted our most recent teaching blog, written by PhD candidate Temitope Ojedele-Adejumo. If you haven’t read it, please check it out at https://hokieswrite.com/teaching-blog/. As a reminder, if there’s anything you’ve been considering writing about, please send it my way!
Everyone’s an Author
We have not updated the textbook for the 2025-2026 academic year. However, if you will be teaching 1105/1106 for the first time with this new text, you will receive a textbook this summer. Mary Helen Willett, our textbook representative, will be sending you a link and a hard copy of the book this summer, and I’ll be in touch once you should expect those materials.
