Virginia Tech Panel at WEAB (Writing Education Across Borders)
In September 2024, three members of the English department, Dr. Shakil Rabbi, Lin Li, and Gideon Kwawukumey, presented a panel entitled “Connecting Locations of Writing.” They discussed the connection between rhetoric and multilingualism in writing education and how it affects their pedagogy. Aspire Award for Curiosity
Ari Corradi’s student, Challen Waller, won the Aspire Award for Curiosity based on a paper he wrote in Ari’s ENGL 1106 class on hyper-local agriculture, food security, and the educational gap that might prevent a shift towards new ways of growing produce in different ways.
The awards ceremony will be held in October 2024. Congratulations to Challen (and Ari!)!
